On my first day at the new school, I felt a little nervous. I didn’t know anyone there. I sat in class next to a boy named Adam. He smiled and said, “Hi, what’s your name?”

I said, “My name is Karim. I’m new here.” He said, “Nice to meet you, Karim! Do you like football?” I said, “Yes, I love it.” He said, “Great! We play every day after school. Would you like to join us?”

I agreed quickly and thanked him. After school, we played together and had fun. Now we are good friends and talk every day at school.

I was scared at first, but meeting a new friend made my day much better.
